The state Department of Education announced Thursday that four previously suspended school bus routes in East Hawaii will be reinstated starting Monday.
The latest restored routes will be serviced by bus service contractors Ground Transport Inc. and Roberts Hawaii. The routes were among those suspended at the start of the school year due to a lack of bus drivers.
Parents and guardians of student riders will be notified directly of restored routes and any necessary route modifications, the DOE said.
The East Hawaii routes being restored are:
— Kalanianaole Elementary, routes TR15A, TR16A;
— Pahoa High School, routes SR12A, SR12B.
Efforts to restore the remaining 69 suspended bus routes statewide are ongoing.
